Buying a baby stroller for your little one can be quite confusing with so many of them flooding the stores and each looking more attractive than the other. Specially so for first-time parents. With so many different kinds of strollers around - standard strollers, jogging strollers, pram strollers, you-name-it strollers, losing sight of what you really want can be very easy. So it is advisable to first check for some basic must-haves and then choose a model that gives the most at its price. Safety first, convenience second and the rest follow. That's the general rule to follow. Obvious as it may seem, many a times when it comes to buying we fail to prioritize. Check the stroller for stability. Make sure that it does not topple when you hang diaper bags over the handles. Then look for features like adjustable handles, specially if you are tall. Choose strollers that have seats that can be reclined for younger riders. The wheels should be maneuverable enough so that you are able to make corners easily. This feature is particularly useful in crowded places. Some strollers come with many added features like parent organizer trays, drink holder, snack bars etc. that can be very tempting. However, these accessories are also available separately and can be added on later. So even if the stroller that meets all the safety parameters does not have these features you can still go in for it. Also make sure that the stroller can be easily folded, unfolded and carried. Strollers come in various attractive colors and designs. Experts agree that exposing your child from his earliest years to a lot of different colors and patterns makes him sharper and learn faster. Also, pay attention to your child when he plays with toys. In all probability, there will be a particular color that he will like more than any other. It is a good idea to have that color on your stroller. Keeps the little one interested- a tough job otherwise! |
